Molly Pettersson Hammar (real name Ella Molly Natalia Pettersson Hammar , born October 16, 1995 ) is a Swedish singer and songwriter . She gained fame by participating in the Swedish casting show Idol and the Melodifestivalen .

Career

2011: Idol

In 2011 she took part in the eighth season of the Swedish talent show Idol . She made it to the finals, where she finished fourth.

2015: Melodifestivalen

In 2015 Molly Pettersson Hammar took part in the Melodifestivalen, the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest , with the song I'll be Fine . She competed in the first semifinals, finished sixth there and did not make it into the final. In the Swedish charts, the single climbed to number 65 and stayed there for six weeks.

2015: Something Right

In 2015 Pettersson Hammar released her second single called Something Right . On August 21, 2015, the official music video was released on the Warner Music Sweden YouTube channel .

2016: Melodifestivalen and Eurovision Song Contest

In 2016 Pettersson Hammar will again take part in the Melodifestivalen . She will compete in the second semifinals of the competition on February 13, 2016 with the song Hunger .

In the same year Pettersson Hammar wrote the song Walk on Water , which was selected as a Maltese entry for the Eurovision Song Contest 2016. It is sung by Ira Losco .
