The Melodifestivalen 2015 was the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 in Vienna ( Austria ). The hosts of the six live shows were Sanna Nielsen , the winner of the Melodifestivalen 2014, and the Swedish comedian Robin Paulsson. Måns Zelmerlöw won with the song Heroes . In the final of the Eurovision Song Contest, he prevailed over Russia with 365 points. Sweden won the Eurovision Song Contest for the sixth time and has since been in second place among the countries with the most victories.
format
concept
For the fourteenth time the semi-finals will take place in different locations in Sweden. There are 28 entries, which are distributed over four semifinals, so that seven entries were presented per semifinals. In two voting rounds, the audience decided who qualified for the final and who was allowed to compete again in the Andra Chansen (German: Second Chance). In each semi-final, the first two entries with the most audience votes qualified directly for the final. Those contributions that took third and fourth place appeared a second time on the Andra Chansen program. There the candidates competed against each other in duels and whoever received the most votes from the audience qualified for the final. Twelve performers appeared in the finale. For the first time since 1997, the Melodifestivalen finale consisted of twelve contributions.
The semi-finals took place on February 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th, the second chance round on March 7th and the final on March 14th in Stockholm .
The winner of the final, Måns Zelmerlöw , was Sanna Nielsen's successor and represented Sweden at the 60th Eurovision Song Contest in Austria.
The rule introduced at Melodifestivalen 2014 that at least 20 percent of the submitted contributions must be (co-) written by at least one woman has been raised to 50 percent this year by SVT.
