Jon Henrik Fjällgren (born April 26, 1987 in Cali , as Montoya ) is a Swedish - Sami singer and joiker .

Life

Fjällgren was born in the Colombian city ​​of Cali and moved to a children's home shortly after his birth. He was adopted by a Sami couple from Härjedalen when he was six months old . He works there as a reindeer herder to this day . In 2014 Fjällgren joined the talent show Talang Sverige , the Swedish version of the Got Talent format at. At his first appearance he performed his own joik Daniels jojk . He could win the competition.

Fjällgren took part in the Melodifestivalen 2015 , the Swedish ESC preliminary decision, with the song Jag är fri (Manne leam frijje) ( German : I am free ) . He qualified for the final where he finished second. Two years later he appeared again at the Melodifestivalen 2017 together with the singer Aninia . They took third place with the song En värld full av strider (Eatneme gusnie jeenh dåaroeh) (German: A world full of strife ). In 2018 he took part in the Swedish version of Let's Dance , which he won with his dance partner. In 2019 he took part again in the Melodifestivalen , where he came fourth in the final with the song Norrsken (German: polar light ).

In November 2019 he published the single The way you make me feel , with his joik being accompanied by an English text for the first time. He also announced an album for 2020 that will include international collaborations. Fjällgren was a participant in the Swedish music show Stjärnornas stjärna in 2020, which was broadcast from March 14, 2020. He finally finished second behind David Lindgren in the final . On April 17th, 2020 he released the new single The Avatar .
