The Melodifestivalen 2014 was the Swedish finals for the Euro Vision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen ( Denmark ). It was the 54th edition of the competition organized by the Swedish broadcaster SVT . Overall, the competition lasted from February 1, 2014 to March 8, 2014.

The competition was won by Sanna Nielsen with her song Undo , which was written by David Kreuger, Fredrik Kempe and Hamed Pirouzpanah. However, she won only two points ahead of Ace Wilder , which was the narrowest victory in the history of the melody festival.

For the thirteenth time the semi-finals took place in different locations in Sweden. There were 32 entries, which were divided into four semifinals, so that eight entries were presented per semifinals. The audience decided in two voting rounds who qualified for the final and who was allowed to compete again in the Andra Chansen (German: Second Chance). In each semi-final, the first two entries with the most audience votes qualified directly for the final. Those contributions that took third and fourth place appeared a second time on the Andra Chansen program . There the participants again competed against each other in two voting rounds. After a first round of voting, two duels were determined. The winner of each duel was then allowed to move into the final. There were ten participants in the final.
