Ace Wilder (* 23 July 1982 in Stockholm as Alice Kristina Ingrid Gernandt ) is a Swedish singer and songwriter . She gained fame by participating in the 2014 Melodifestivalen .

Life

Ace Wilder was born on July 23, 1982 in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden. She grew up in different countries and lived mainly in Miami , Florida . She is the great niece of the Swedish radio presenter Anders Gernandt.

Career

In 2012 Wilder began her solo career by signing a recording deal with EMI Records and Warner Music . A year later she released her debut single Do It , which was often used in US TV shows . In the same year, the song Bitches Like Fridays and their first album A Wilder were released , which won the Scandipop Awards for Best Music Album of the Year .

She achieved her breakthrough in the Swedish music industry by participating in the Melodifestivalen 2014, the Swedish preliminary decision for the Eurovision Song Contest . Here she reached second place in the final with the song Busy Doin 'Nothin' two points behind Sanna Nielsen . The song reached the in the official Swedish charts first rank . On November 30th, 2015 it was announced that she will again take part in the preliminary round in 2016 with the song Don't Worry . There she reached the final on March 12th in Solna near Stockholm via the first semifinals in Gothenburg on February 7th. On February 4, 2017, Ace Wilder took part in the Melodifestivalen 2017 again. As the runner-up in the first semi-final of Melodifestival 2017, she made it into the final on March 11th in the Friendsarena in Solna, Stockholm.
