Sanne Solomonsen

Sanne Salomonsen (born December 30, 1955 in Holte ) is one of the most famous Danish rock singers .

As a 12-year-old Sanne Salomonsen performed as a rock 'n' roll singer. Soon after, she appeared in several musicals such as Hair , Godspell and Touch . In 1973 she released her first solo record, Sanne Salomonsen . Since then she has released numerous albums and given many concerts, especially in Denmark and Sweden.

In 1980 she started performing with the band Sneakers . With them she recorded four albums. In 1983 she played the female lead in the feature film Forræderne . In 1984 she took part in other feature films as a leading actress. A year later, the sneakers broke up.

In 1986 she made her first appearance in the USA . Her album Sanne sold around 600,000 times in Scandinavia in 1989 . She recorded her album Where Blue Begins in the USA; The producer was Jim Gaines.

She played with numerous internationally known musicians such as the American band Little Feat , with whom she recorded the album Language of the Heart in 1994 . In 1996 she performed on a tour of Germany with Peter Maffay, alternating with Amanda Marshall as a guest musician. With the Chris Minh Doky Band she recorded the album In a New York Minute with well-known songs by other artists. The songs are more influenced by jazz than their role models. Accompanying musicians included Michael Brecker , Randy Brecker , David Sanborn and Toots Thielemans . Over 100,000 copies of this album were sold. The two compilations De bedste af de bedste (German: “The best of the best”) sold over 50,000 copies each in Denmark and Sweden.

Sanne Salomonsen was married twice: from 1975 to 1980 with the bassist Bo Stief and from 1985 to 1992 with Mats Ronander, with whom she has a son.

On May 5, 2006, a blood clot in her head caused symptoms of paralysis. As a result, Sanne Salomonsen was unable to perform for a long time. In 2008 she recorded the single Taxa . In March 2009 the album Unico was released, 2011 Tiden brænder. Further albums followed in 2014 and 2017.

Sanne Salomonsen is sometimes referred to as the "Danish Tina Turner " due to her style and age . She is the daughter of the Danish ornithologist Finn Salomonsen .
