Molly Rankin , real name Mary Aileen Fraser Rankin (born August 17, 1905 in Alyth , Perth and Kinross , Scotland, † March 4, 1981 in Hendon , Middlesex , England ), was a British actress .

Life

Molly Rankin was the daughter of Hugh Fraser Rankin and his wife Margaret Elizabeth, nee Ramsay. After completing school in Edinburgh , she completed her acting training at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London , where she was awarded the Bancroft Gold Medal in addition to a scholarship.

She made her stage debut in May 1925 at the Oxford Playhouse in the role of "Maude Fulton" in the play Caroline . In this role she also appeared with the ensemble at the Festival Theater in Cambridge that season . In 1926 she played in Stratford-on-Avon and in 1928 for the first time in London , as "Christine Linde" in A Doll's House by Henrik Ibsen at what was then the Kingsway Theater, which opened as the Novelty Theater in 1882 , followed by numerous other stage roles.
