Mon is a city in the Indian state of Nagaland .
The city is the capital of the Mon district . Mon has the status of a Town Committee . The city is divided into 11 wards . It had 26,328 inhabitants on the cut-off date of the 2011 census, of whom 13,733 were men and 12,595 women. Christians make up the majority of the city's population with a share of over 92%. Hindus form a minority of over 4%. The literacy rate in 2011 was 86.0%, well above the national average. 93.3% belong to the Scheduled Tribes .
