The Moosacher local supply center ( Mona for short ) is a local supply center in Pelkovenstrasse in Moosach with around 7,700 m² of retail space. There are also restaurants, medical practices and a fitness studio. It opened in October 2014.

description

The Mona has a gray-green facade made of glass and metal. In addition to retail stores and restaurants on the basement, ground floor and first floor, there is a medical center on the second floor. Two further floors are reserved for offices. 7,200 m² are occupied by the parking garage.

The local supply center complex is located at Pelkovenstrasse 143–147 at the corner of Hanauer Strasse . The Olympia shopping center is in the immediate vicinity . The basement of the Mona has its own entrance to the Olympia Shopping Mall (U1, U3). For the entrance from the subway (breakthrough in March 2014) it took a year of planning and testing.

The Munich office Steidle Architects was commissioned to design the building. The building complex is a so-called " green building " and was certified with LEED gold in 2015 . There are six e-charging stations in the parking area of the center. The building is nominated for the BDA Prize Bavaria 2016.

Economic situation

One year after the opening, several tenants complain about the insufficient number of visitors, especially in the retail and catering sectors. The main cause is seen as the competition from the neighboring Olympic shopping center (OEZ), but also an uncomfortable atmosphere , an unfavorable mix of branches , low external impact and excessively high parking fees.
