In her painting, Mona Ardeleanu develops a unique variant of the still life . Always starting from monochrome backgrounds, she fills her canvases with strange-looking arrangements of differently patterned, gathered or folded fabrics, details of clothing, hair, belts, ribbons, pointed rods or other objects. Ardeleanu always works in series; her paintings show objects that sometimes appear like parts of the body or as if they were made for a very specific, mysterious purpose. They make the viewer curious and confused at the same time, attract him with the perfect painting, but somehow also seem eerie and strange.
