Mondo Marcio is the debut album by the Milanese rapper Mondo Marcio . It was released in May 2004 under the Vibrarecords label . In 2006 a "Gold Edition" of the album was released, including 12 remixes.

Emergence

After Mondo Marcio produced his demo tape Difesa personale in 2003 , he sold a few recordings to his friends in Milan . Shortly thereafter, the rapper Bassi Maestro became aware of the young rapper and invited him to a joint first featuring, which brought Mondo notoriety in the rap scene. Bassi Maestro himself later made the publication of Mondo's debut albums possible.

Mondo Marcio is considered to be one of the most influential albums of the Italian-speaking underground & gangsta rap. The tracks are mostly about the hard life on the outskirts of Milan , which Mondo Marcio himself calls "La città del fumo" (Eng. = "The city of smoke"). He often talks about the separation of his parents, the hatred of his father and his deep bond with his mother. The description of difficult living conditions is reinforced by Mondo's hard lecture.
