Generazione X is the third solo album by the Milanese rapper Mondo Marcio . It was released by EMI on June 22, 2007 and was distributed by Virgin . The album sold over 25,000 times.

Emergence

After Mondo Marcio his second solo album in January 2006 Solo un uomo had published his album was in July 2006, first solo un uomo as Gold Edition again published, supplemented by the Mixtape ( Nessuna via di uscita ).

background

The album was released a year and a half after his second solo album Solo un uomo . The content of the new album became more varied and personal. In the song Ultimo spettacolo, for example, Mondo Marcio deals with the hip hop scene , while Bye bye deals with Mondo Marcio's relationship problems and an old love.

To Generazione X one was music video rotated and coupled the song as a single. The single Generazione X was released shortly before the album was released and premiered live in Milan at the TRL Awards organized by MTV Italia .

Mondo Marcio produced all the tracks himself. The album was less successful than its predecessor, reaching number 19 in the Italian charts. While Mondo Marcio shot three music videos on the last album, the failure to promote Generazione X stopped after the first video.

Musical style

Some tracks on the album Generazione X can be assigned to the stylistic direction of battle rap , others to gangster rap . Mondo Marcio also processes his own life in the lyrics, which is reflected in melancholy pieces of music such as Non ti ho mai detto (“I never told you”).
