Animale in gabbia ( English for "animal in a cage") is the fourth solo album by the Milanese rapper Mondo Marcio . It was released on January 29, 2010 as a standard edition via Mondo Marcio's label Mondo Records . In addition, a repackaging edition was released on June 1, 2010 (including the standard edition and four bonus songs ).

Before the album was released, the song Non sono una rockstar was released as a single on December 13, 2009. The only guest contribution on the album is pop and R&B singer Michelle Lily on Così tanto alcol . The album was again, just like its predecessor, Generazione X , produced by Mondo Marcio alone.

The album reached number 37 on the charts in Italy.

Emergence

After the mixtape In cosa credi was published in summer 2008 , Mondo Marcio announced in interviews that he wanted to take a break from the music first in order to collect new ideas for his new solo album. In mid-2009, Mondo Marcio announced the imminent release of Animale in gabbia . He stated that he would devote himself to work on the album until the end of 2009 and finish it by then. To shorten the waiting time, Mondo Marcio released the EP Animale in gabbia sta arrivando as a free download in October 2009 .
