Sebastopolis ( Greek  Σεβαστούπολις , "city of Sebastos ") was an ancient city in Caria . It is located about 62 km south of the provincial capital Denizli and 2 km east of Kızılca on the road to Alaattin in the Turkish province of Denizli .

Sebastopolis was located in a mountainous region of southeastern Karia between the ancient cities of Tabai and Themisonion on the road from Herakleia Salbake and Apollonia Salbake to Kibyra . During the Roman Empire the place was renamed Sebastopolis and is documented by inscriptions. Sebastopolis was also settled during the Byzantine Empire .

Only a few remains of the ancient city have survived due to erosion . The best preserved remains are the Höyük Hill, a 7 meter high settlement mound with a diameter of 150 meters, a few steps of a stadium and a necropolis . The size of the stadium was about 150 meters in length and 60 meters in width. The necropolis, presumably from the Roman Empire, is located about 1.5 km east of the ancient city.
