Mondsröttchen is a district in the Kaule district of Bergisch Gladbach .
history
The name of the settlement Mondsröttchen takes up the old tub designation “Im Monds Rödchen” , which is recorded in the original cadastre northwest of Broichen . The basic word "röttchen / Rödchen" (= clearing) indicates a clearing process. The defining word “moon” from the old high German “mano” (= moon) indicates the round shape of the cleared parcel. The field name describes a circular cleared area, the origin of which probably dates back to the first decade of the 18th century.
