Monika Bilstein

Monika Bilstein (born September 16, 1958 ) is a German publisher .

Bilstein is a trained retail bookseller and has been the successor to Hermann Schulz since 2001 as director of the Peter Hammer Verlag in Wuppertal. She expanded the publishing house founded in 1966 with a focus on South America to include children's and young people's books. In addition to numerous well-known German illustrators and authors, the publishing house mainly publishes books for children and young people from Africa and South America under her leadership. The publisher's best-known title is Vom kleine Maulwurf, who wanted to know who hit his head by Wolf Erlbruch (illustrations) and Werner Holzwarth (text).
