Monika Henreid , occasionally Monica Henreid (born April 14, 1943 in the United States ) is an American former actress and documentary director .

Live and act

Monika Henreid grew up in Los Angeles as the daughter of screen star Paul Henreid ( Casablanca ) among Hollywood celebrities in the 1940s. She had a particularly close friendship with her father's screen partner ( Journey from the Past , Deceptive Passion ) Bette Davis , at whose side she also played a small role in the 1963 thriller The Black Circle , a late production by her father. Since her debut as a less than 15-year-old in Paul Henreid's film director Asphalt-Hyänen , where she played a teenage cigarette seller in 1958, Monika Henreid has worked in a number of cinema and television productions without ever attracting greater attention with the consistently small roles to have. As early as 1974, Monika Henreid put an end to any acting ambitions and then only worked briefly (1975 to 1977) as a cloakroom attendant ( Las Vegas Lady, Winterhawk, Psychic Killer and Evil Town ) in film.

In later years, Monika Henreid saw herself primarily as the administrator of her father's theatrical estate. She could also be heard as a narrator in the Paul Henreid episode as part of the television documentary series Star of the Month on the cable channel Turner Classic Movies . In the 2010s, Monika Henreid tried to use crowdfunding to raise the money for a comprehensive film documentary about her father - a film that is currently (as of June 2018) under the title Paul Henreid, Beyond Victor Laszlo. A Daughter's Memoir is in production.
