Monika Krautgartner

Monika Krautgartner (born June 4, 1961 in Ried im Innkreis ) is an Austrian writer , columnist and illustrator .

Life

Monika Krautgartner lives and works in Tumeltsham , Upper Austria . The mother of two children is a trained dental assistant and has been working as a freelance artist since 1993. She has published over sixty books and is featured in numerous anthologies. Her work and socio-political engagement have been awarded prizes and recognitions. The mother of letters from the Innviertel (self-definition) welcomes the guests on her homepage with the statement: I write because I have to, but also because I can . In 2013, Governor Josef Pühringer appointed her as a consultant for popular education and homeland care for the Upper Austrian provincial government.
