Monika Weber (fencer)

Monika Weber (born February 7, 1966 in Satu Mare , Socialist Republic of Romania ) is a former German foil fencer . She was German champion and two-time world champion.

Life

Monika Weber is one of the national fencers of Sathmarschwäbischer descent, like Zita Funkenhauser , Rita König or Susanne König . Until 1986 it started for Romania under the name Weber-Koszto , then for Germany. She is one of the athletes who won Olympic medals for both countries. After her marriage to the Olympic champion Ulrich Schreck , she took on the family name Schreck . She is now divorced and goes by the name Clasen .
