Career
Monique Kerschowski grew up in the Berlin district of Hellersdorf . In her youth she was a successful athlete. Due to cartilage damage in her knee, she had to end her career in 2000. After her knee healed, she kicked a little with her twin sister. When she wanted to buy new soccer shoes, she happened to meet a representative from BSC Marzahn who was looking for new players for the girls' team. Within a very short time, Kerschowski was appointed to the Berlin selection team. Her talent was not hidden from the 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam . In the summer of 2005 she moved to the Bundesliga with her sister . At the same time they went to boarding school at the Potsdam Sports School.
In the first season Kerschowski was able to win both the championship and the cup . In July 2006, Kerschowski won the European Championship in Switzerland with the U19 national team . She scored a goal in the final. In August 2006 she took part in the World Cup in Russia with the U 20 national team and played 3 games. Germany lost to the USA in the quarterfinals. While her twin sister Isabel was able to fight for a regular place, Monique Kerschowski was mainly used in the second team. With the U-19 selection, she was able to defend the European title in July 2007 .
End of September 2007 she suffered in a game of the World Cup tournament bridge against VfL Wolfsburg a cross and internal ligament . It wasn't until the last match day of the season that she celebrated her comeback with a 6-1 win in Freiburg. A year later she won the indoor cup and the German championship. Again and again she was thrown back by further injuries such as a new cruciate ligament tear. After the 2011/12 season, she ended her career.
