Monte is a place and a former municipality ( freguesia ) in northern Portugal .
Monte is part of the Terras de Bouro district in the Braga district . The community had an area of 12 km² and 129 inhabitants (as of June 30, 2011).
On September 29, 2013 the municipalities of Monte and Chorense were merged to form the new municipality of União das Freguesias de Chorense e Monte .
