Bridge under construction in December 2018 |
The Morača Bridge (also Moračica Bridge ) is a motorway bridge under construction in Montenegro , which should be completed in March 2020. [outdated]
It spans the Morača near the village of Moračica north of Podgorica and serves to expand the Autoput Bar – Boljare . The Morača Bridge is being built by the China Road and Bridge Corporation . The costs are put at over 70 million euros.
The prestressed concrete box girder bridge , designed by CCCC Highway Consultants, is a total of 960 m long and 23.4 m wide. It spans the river bed of the Morača at an altitude of 195 m.
Its six openings have pillar spacing of 95 + 170 + 3 × 190 + 125 m. The highest of the five reinforced concrete - pillar measures 158.5 meters. The bridge has a uniform girder for both directional lanes with a two-cell, haunched hollow box with a trapezoidal cross-section, which is monolithically connected to the pillars. The rectangular hollow cross-section of the pillars is divided in the upper section into two lamellas that can adapt to the temperature-related changes in the length of the bridge. The bridge was cantilevered . The cantilever arms were concreted together to form a continuous beam so that the finished bridge consists of several frames .
In contrast to the existing traffic routes, the new motorway will not lead through the Morača gorge, but on the high plateau between the gorges of the Morača and Mala Rijeka rivers. In the part of the Morača Gorge south of the bridge, the new motorway gradually gains height, leading through several tunnels and over bridges, and then over the bridge to the high plateau on the other side of the valley. A little southwest of the bridge is a first, over 800 m long tunnel.
