The Morane-Saulnier MS.760 Paris Jet is a four-seater very light jet produced by the French manufacturer Morane-Saulnier (later SOCATA).
history
The MS 760 is based on the two-seater jet trainer MS.755 Fleuret by designer René Gauthier, which is not produced in series. This machine lost in the competition against the Fouga Magister . As a light twin-engine aircraft, the MS.760 was one of the first representatives of the very light jets, which, however, could not prevail against the competition of the Learjets in the 1960s . The first flight of the prototype took place on July 29, 1954. The first production aircraft took off for the first time on February 27, 1958. The MS.760B Paris II, equipped with more powerful Marbore VI engines, wing end tanks and better payload storage space, was produced from 1961. The six-seat MS.760C Paris III was only built in one copy and took off on its maiden flight in 1964.
The MS.760 was used by the French Navy and Air Force until 1977 (50 units), in Brazil (30 units) and Argentina (48 units) until 2007 as a training and liaison aircraft. After retirement, some of the aircraft will continue to be used as private aircraft.
After the acquisition of the rights to the aircraft by the US company JetSet Aviation , they are planning a new version of the aircraft in a modernized form (with modern engines and glass cockpit), which should reach a speed of 740 km / h and a range of 2600 km.
construction
The MS 760 is a twin - engine, low - wing aircraft with a T-tail, which is powered by two Turboméca Marboré engines in the wing roots.
