Morgan Paul Ensberg (born August 26, 1975 in Redondo Beach , California ) is a retired American baseball player . He was a third baseman and played in the major league from 2000 to 2008 .

Ensberg attended the University of Southern California , where he played for their baseball team, the Trojans . In 1998 he became the Houston Astros drafted , on 20 September 2000 he played his first match in the top professional league. The year 2005 was the best season for the right-hander, Ensberg was also called up for the MLB All-Star Game .

This was followed by two weaker seasons, so that Ensberg was passed on to the San Diego Padres in mid-2007 after 673 games for the Astros . In 2008, he signed a contract with the New York Yankees , but was only used 28 times for them. His last game in the major league he played on May 25, 2008. After Morgan Ensberg did not get a new contract with one of the major league teams, he ended his career in 2009.
