Moritz Baumgartl

Moritz Baumgartl (born May 22, 1934 in Frühbuß , Czechoslovakia ) is a German painter , graphic artist and university professor .

Life

Moritz Baumgartl was born in Frühbuß in the Ore Mountains in 1934 . From 1955 to 1959 he studied art education at the State Academy of Fine Arts in Stuttgart with Rudolf Daudert , Christoff Schellenberger and Rudolf Yelin . After working for a long time as an art teacher at the Friedrich-Eugens-Gymnasium Stuttgart , he was appointed professor and head of a class for general artistic training (successor to Hugo Peters ) at the Stuttgart Academy in the 1976 summer semester . In 1993 he received the Sudeten German Culture Prize for Fine Art and Architecture. In 2000 he finished teaching at the academy.

He has shown his artistic work in numerous exhibitions, including in Stuttgart, Basel, Zurich and Paris, and there are also several work monographs, exhibition catalogs and television films about him.
