Moritz Erdmann

Moritz Erdmann (born April 15, 1845 in Arneburg near Stendal , † 1919 in Pasing / Munich ) was a German painter from the Munich School .

Life

Moritz Erdmann attended the Berlin Art Academy and became a student of the marine and landscape painter Hermann Eschke . After completing his studies, Erdmann went on study trips to Thuringia , the Harz Mountains , Schleswig , Holland , Sweden and stayed in Italy for a year .

He later lived in Pasing near Munich, where he died in 1919.

His landscapes are characterized by a poetic, somewhat melancholy conception and a deep, powerful coloring.
