Moritz Ferdinand Gätzschmann

Moritz Ferdinand Gätzschmann (born August 24, 1800 in Leipzig ; † February 18, 1895 in Freiberg ) was a miner .

Moritz Ferdinand Gätzschmann attended the Bergschule in 1820 and the Bergakademie zu Freiberg in 1821. In 1829 he became mechanical engineering secretary to assist the machine director and assessor in construction and machine matters in all Saxon mining offices.

He stayed in this position until 1835, taught general mining art in Freiberg from 1832–34 , became a teacher of mining art at the academy and assessor in the Freiberg Mining Authority in 1835. Appointed professor in 1836, since 1841 he has been head of the mechanical building trade institute, was appointed Bergrat in 1862 and retired in 1872.
