Moritz "Momo" Lanegger (born March 29, 1990 in Graz ) is an Austrian basketball player .
career
The 1.90 m tall and 94 kg heavy point guard played for the Kapfenberg Bulls from 2006 to May 2011 . In the summer of 2011 Lanegger moved to Lower Austria for the 9-time Austrian champion BK Klosterneuburg . In the guard position, the Graz native was considered one of the greatest talents in Europe. In 2015 he was named the best defender in the Admiral Basketball Bundesliga in the 2014/15 season.
After four years he left Klosterneuburg in 2015 and spent the 2015/16 season with league rivals Güssing Knights . For the 2016/17 season he ventured abroad and signed with the English first division club Manchester Giants at the end of October 2016 . The following month he switched to the Danish club Team FOG Næstved . With Næstved he won the Danish cup competition. In the league, he was the team's best preparer with four assists per game and also scored an average of 7.2 points and 4.1 rebounds per game. For the 2017/18 season he went to the English club London Lions .
At the end of January 2018 he left London and moved to the Spanish second division club Iberostar Palma. Up until the end of the 2017/18 season, he had 13 matches on the field and scored an average of 3.8 points, distributed 2.8 assists and collected 2.5 rebounds per game. During the summer break he returned to Klosterneuburg to play in the Bundesliga again.
National team
Lanegger is a member of the national team . With the U20 national team he won the B-EM in 2010 in Oberwart and also played successfully as point guard in Bilbao in the U20 A-EM in 2011 .

Lanegger's greatest successes include winning the Cup (2007) with the Kapfenberg Bulls, winning the Austrian Championship in 2012, the Austrian Supercup in 2012 and the Austrian Cup in 2013 with the Xion Dukes Klosterneuburg, as well as a U18 state championship.
Personal
Moritz Lanegger is the younger brother of Reinhard and Alexander Lanegger , who also work in the Admiral Basketball Bundesliga , and one sister.
