history

The women's team was founded in 1957 by Paul Mayer, and the men's team entered the championship a year later. After promotion to Bundesliga B was achieved in 1995, the club voluntarily withdrew from the Bundesliga in 2000. In 2002 he was promoted to Bundesliga B again and finally to Bundesliga A in 2006.

In the 2013/14 season , the club won the Bundesliga under the leadership of German coach Matthias Zollner and thus achieved the greatest success in the club's history.

In the following 2014/15 season , the Knights secured their first cup title. They won the final with 90:61 against WBC Raiffeisen Wels. Thomas Klepeisz was awarded as the best player (MVP) of the final tournament . The championship title could also be defended with a 3: 1 in the final series against BC Zepter Vienna . In addition, the Knights also competed in the EuroChallenge for the first time in the 2014/15 season , where they made it into the intermediate round.

In April 2016, during the 2015/16 season, the Knights' Bundesliga license was withdrawn for financial reasons and the game had to be stopped.
