The 2013/14 ABL season was the 68th season of the “ Admiral Basketball Bundesliga ”.
Game mode 2013/14
Eleven teams take part in the “Admiral Basketball Bundesliga”. In the basic round there are 20 rounds on the game board. The first six teams qualify for the main round 1 (H1), the remaining five teams for the main round 2 (H2) in which all results achieved up to then are "taken". In the main round 1 there are ten rounds and in the main round 2 eight. The six teams of the H1 are firmly qualified for the quarter-finals, in addition, the first two of the H2 qualify for the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals, the first of the H1 against the second of the H2, the second of the H1 against the first of the H2, the third of the H1 against the sixth of the H1 and the fourth of the H1 against the fifth of the H1 (each best-of-five ). The semi-finals and the final are also played best-of-five. For the ninth place in the ABL, the championship is over after the H2, the tenth and eleventh place have to go into relegation . In the next year, the first division will be reduced to 10 teams, and 12 teams will play in the second division. The champions of the 2nd Bundesliga qualify for the relegation immediately afterwards and fight there with the two worst ABL teams for the last free place in the first division of the 2014/15 season.

The BK Mattersburg Rocks qualified to be a master of the 2nd Basketball League for the play-offs.

The UBSC Graz managed to avoid relegation by winning the relegation. By reducing the league from 11 to 10 teams in the 2014/15 season, UBC St. Pölten was relegated to the 2nd basketball league and BK Mattersburg Rocks remained in second class.
Cup
The Cup Final Four was held from January 25th to 26th, 2014 in the Volksbank Arena in Gmunden. As the host of the final four, the Gmunden Swans were qualified for the semifinals. The other teams that qualified for the Final Four were the Kapfenberg Bulls, the Klosterneuburg Dukes and the BC Vienna. After the Kapfenberg Bulls were able to prevail in the semifinals against the Klosterneuburg Dukes, they won in the final against the Gmunden Swans, who previously threw the BC Vienna out of the tournament, and were thus able to conquer the cup title.
