Sebastian Koch (born January 22, 1988 in Vienna ) is an Austrian basketball player . He currently plays for the second division JUSSI Jennersdorf / Fehring .

career

Koch made his debut in the Bundesliga in the 2006/07 season in the Güssing Knights shirt , after having previously worked through all the youth levels at the club. Following the 2012/13 season, in which he scored an average of 11.5 points per game, he was voted one of the top five domestic players in the league by the internet service eurobasket.com . In 2014 and 2015 he won the Austrian state championship with the Burgenlanders and also the national cup competition in 2015. In spring 2016, the Güssing team was revoked the Bundesliga license in the course of bankruptcy proceedings against the operating company.

After leaving Güssing, Koch moved to Vienna , where he posted 11.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game for BC Hallmann during the 2016/17 season. For the 2017/18 season he went to the Hungarian first division club BC Körmend . In eight league appearances for Körmend he scored an average of 2.1 points per game, in the European club competition FIBA Europe Cup it was an average of 2.5 points per game. At the end of January 2018 he returned to Austria and joined the second division team JUSSI Jennersdorf / Fehring .

National team

Koch was an Austrian team player in the U20 age group and later also made the leap into the men's national team , with which he took part in eliminations for the European Championship , among other things .
