The Sportunion Jussi Jennersdorf / Fehring is an Austrian basketball club with roots in Burgenland and Styria . The club's teams are nicknamed "Blackbirds". The men's team competes in the second division .

history

The sports union JUSSI Jennersdorf (the abbreviation JUSSI stands for Jennersdorfer Union Schulsport Initiative) was founded on May 15, 2007, initiated by Karl Baldauf, who thus followed up on the basketball history in the southernmost district of Burgenland, which was previously written in particular by the local sports high school has been. The club joined Styria in basketball because of its geographical location.

In 2011 the men's team was promoted to the Styrian regional league. For the 2012/13 season the club moved its home to the town of Fehring and changed its name to Sportunion Jussi Jennersdorf / Fehring.

After the Güssing Knights ended, some players from the former Bundesliga club switched to JUSSI. From then on, the team played their home games at Aktiv Park Güssing. Under the direction of coach Daniel Müllner, he won the national championship title and promoted to the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2016/17 season . At the beginning of 2018 it was possible to set a personal exclamation mark with the signing of national player Sebastian Koch . The 2017/18 season ended as runner-up in the 2nd Bundesliga. In April 2019, coach Müllner's team won the second division title (2-0 wins against UBC St. Pölten). Jennersdorf's Philipp Horvath was honored as the best player in the final series.
