Moritz Polk

Moritz "Mopo" Erhard Polk (* 1990 in Hamburg ) is a German hockey player .

Polk was born as the son of the former youth national coach Erhard Polk in Hamburg, the family moved shortly afterwards to Limburg an der Lahn , where Polk played in his youth at Limburg HC . In order to play in the Bundesliga , Polk moved to Uhlenhorst Mülheim after the A-youth . After winning the runner-up with the club, he moved to Hamburg in 2011 to join the Harvestehuder THC .

For the FIH Champions Trophy 2012, Polk, who had previously played in all junior national teams, was appointed to the senior squad for the first time. In Melbourne , Australia , he prepared the next goal in the game for 5th place against Belgium and shortly afterwards scored his first international goal to make it 4-3. Polk, who wears the shirt number 11, has been part of the extended squad of the German national team since 2013 . So far, he has played 29 international matches and was European champion in the hall in early 2014 .

In the same year Polk won both the Euro Hockey League and the German championship a little later with the Harvestehuder THC .

Polk graduated from the Tilemannschule and studied economics .
