Hölderlinstrasse (Radebeul)
The Hölderlinstraße is a nearly 250-meter-long city road the Saxon town of Radebeul , in the original district Radebeul itself.
Development
The numbering of the house addresses begins today on Gellertstrasse. The odd numbers are on the north (right) side, while the even numbers are on the south.
Several of the buildings on Hölderlinstrasse are under monument protection and are therefore listed in the list of cultural monuments in Radebeul (district) , some of them under the addresses of side streets:
- No. 1 , Villa Lilys Heim (No. 2) , No. 4 , No. 8 , No. 9 , Schildenstrasse 6a
Naming
The street ends about halfway up Schildenstraße between Meißner Straße and Pestalozzistraße, opposite Karl-May-Straße (formerly Kirchstraße ). After the expansion of Planstraße XI and the development of the surrounding fields on the former farmland "Oberzeilen" by the Ziller brothers , the street was named Moritzstraße after it was handed over to the community in 1890 , in honor of the older Ziller brother Moritz Ziller , who also headed the regional beautification association . The street leads to Gellertstraße, which was built earlier (1887) by the Ziller brothers to open up corridors.
After the Second World War, it was renamed Hölderlinstrasse in 1945 , after the German poet Friedrich Hölderlin . At the same time, the opposite Karl-May-Straße was made an extension of Hölderlinstraße and the honor given to Karl May , whose last residence Villa Shatterhand is there, was given up. This condition lasted until 1985, when the former Karl-May-Straße was separated again and the old name was given back.
Residents
Court opera singer and actor Eduard Decarli lived and died in 1903 in his apartment at Hölderlinstrasse 1 .
The listed Villa Hölderlinstrasse 4 was the retirement home of Far East photographer Gustav Richard Lambert . His son, the psychotherapist Fritz Lambert , founded the Lambert Coué Institute in his parents' house , which was entered in the register of associations as the Lambert Coué Society in 1933.
