Morpheus is a progressive rock / fusion band from the Kassel / Warburg area .

history

Morpheus were founded in 1975 in the Warburg area when the forerunner group split up. At the beginning of 1976 they published the LP Rabventure in small editions . Instrumental jazz rock with a strong progressive touch was played. Those involved were Gerold Adler on guitar, Heinrich Holtgreve on alto saxophone, Peter Blömeke on bass and flute and Alfred Franke on drums. There are two new editions of the record, as LP and CD. In 1977 Morpheus was dissolved because Heinrich Holtgreve had moved to Bochum to study . In 2001 they got together again, with Gerold Adler, Heinrich Holtgreve, Peter Blömeke and the Colombian Alvaro "Chevere" Tarquino as the new drummer. With this line-up, two CDs were released, 2002 For a Second and 2017 Restless Dreams . Two other long players, Life Takes its Toll and Life Takes another Toll , are only available as downloads . The group is still together and makes occasional appearances. One of them was on July 19, 2002 at the well-known Burg-Herzberg-Festival .
