Morten Eilifsen started for the Henning Skilag club . Since December 2002 the Norwegian has participated in international FIS races . If there were no successes at first, his results have slowly improved since 2005 and in December of that year he won his first FIS race over 15 kilometers in Östersund . In March 2006, Eilifsen, who had to assert himself in the Norwegian national team against strong competition, was used for the first time over the long distance of 50 kilometers in the cross-country skiing world cup (52nd place). It was not until the first stop of the distance races of the Cross-Country World Cup 2007/08 that he was able to recommend himself for a second use in the World Cup due to good results in FIS races, including a second victory in Beitostølen . In his second World Cup race, which was run over 15 kilometers in freestyle , he finished ninth and thus for the first time a place in the top ten. A day later he made second place with the relay. In February 2008 he won his first and only World Cup victory with the relay in Falun . He then mainly competed in the Scandinavian Cup and FIS races. At the Norwegian cross-country skiing championship in Granåsen in 2008 , he won gold in the 30 km pursuit race and over 15 km freestyle. In March 2010 he won the Storlirennet over 36 km freestyle. At the Norwegian cross-country skiing championship in 2011 in Kvaløysletta , he won bronze in the 50 km mass start race. In November 2011 he finished second in the World Cup with the relay. He ended his career after the 2011/12 season.
