Morten Wold (born June 22, 1967 in Modum ) is a Norwegian journalist and politician of the right-wing Fremskrittspartiet (FrP). He has been a member of parliament in Storting since 2013 .

Life

After graduating from secondary school in 1986, Wold worked as a journalist in various positions. Initially he was a member of the conservative Høyre party and between 1984 and 1988 he was in charge of the youth organization Unge Høyre in his home town of Modum . From 1987 to 1991 he sat for the party in the local parliament of Modum. He left the Høyre in order to avoid conflicts of interest as a journalist.

Journalist and consultant

As a journalist he first worked for local newspapers, in 1992 he switched to the illustrated Se og Hør as a photo reporter . In 1993 he returned to Drammen's local newspaper Fremtiden back later, he moved to Drammen Tidende . Between 1999 and 2000 he was Secretary General of the Norwegian Ski Federation at the Ski Flying World Championships 2000 in Vikersund . Wold then worked again as a journalist until 2008 before he worked as a communications advisor for the FrP group in the Norwegian national parliament in Storting until 2013 . He only joined the Fremskrittspartiet when this activity began. From 2011 to 2019 he sat again in the local parliament of Modum, this time for the FrP.

Storting MP

Wold moved into Storting for the first time in the 2013 parliamentary elections . There he represents the constituency of Buskerud and he was initially a member of the health and welfare committee. After the 2017 election , he moved to the Family and Culture Committee, and in January 2020 he moved to the Foreign and Defense Committee. Following the Storting election in 2017, Wold was also elected a member of the parliamentary committee of the FrP and second vice-president of parliament.
