Moschny ( Ukrainian Мошни ; Russian Мошны ) is a village in the Ukraine Cherkasy Oblast on the river Wilschanka with about 4800 inhabitants (2006).
The village received town charter in 1592, which it forfeited over time. Between 1930 and 1950 the village was called Dudnyzke . It is located in the west of Cherkasy Raion on the regional road P-12 30 km northwest of Cherkassy . In the village there was a castle of the Russian field marshal and politician Mikhail Semyonovich Vorontsov , which was destroyed in 1919. The associated park has been preserved.
Personalities
The Russian painter and illustrator Mikhail Mikhailovich Yarovoi was born in the village in 1864 and the Ukrainian-Soviet politician Mychajlo Hretschucha in 1902 .
