The Mosesbrunnen is a classicist fountain on Franziskanerplatz in Vienna's 1st district, Inner City .

The Moses Fountain was built in 1798 in the middle of Franziskanerplatz according to a design by Johann Martin Fischer . A larger than life statue of Moses stands on a plinth in a large fountain basin . On the base there is a lion mask as a gargoyle and a relief of drinking Israelites. The fountain bowl from the early 17th century originally stood in the house at Franziskanerplatz 6.
