Moshupa , even Mosopa , is a place in the Southern District in Botswana .

geography

In 2011 Moshupa had 20,016 residents. The place is in the sub-district Ngwaketse West .

The area is flat but has a few hills with rock overhangs. The climate is arid . The Mosope River, which only has temporary water , runs through the village.

history

Moshupa was founded by the Bakgatla -ba-ga Mmanaana. Mokgweetsi Masisi of the Botswana Democratic Party , who was appointed president in 2018, comes from Moshupa. He was a member of the constituency of Moshupa / Mangana until he took office, as did his father Edison Masisi, who died in 2003 .

Economy and Infrastructure

Agriculture is practiced around Moshupa, mainly cattle breeding.

Moshupa is on the A10 highway , which connects Thamaga and Gaborone in the northeast with Kanye in the southwest.

The Mmanaana Senior Secondary School is located in Moshupa .
