Motoko Dobashi

Motoko Dobashi ( Japanese 土橋 素 子 , Dobashi Motoko ; * 1976 in Tokushima Prefecture ) is a Japanese artist .

From 1995 to 1999 she studied at the Musashino Art University in Tokyo , from 2000 to 2007 at the Munich Art Academy as a master class student with Markus Oehlen . Dobashi's art lies somewhere between illustration , naturalism and abstraction . In her works she combines European and Asian imagery.

In 2005 she received a scholarship from the Bavarian State Ministry for foreign students and in 2006 the STIBET scholarship from the DAAD . She lives in Munich and is co-founder of raum500 Projektraum .
