Motor-Speedboat Club Berlin

The Motor-Rennboot-Club Berlin (MRC) is a motor boat sport club and was founded on March 15, 1973 in Berlin . Its seat is Berlin; it is registered at the district court of Berlin (Charlottenburg) under no. VR 5023. The association has members worldwide, including in Eastern European countries and overseas. Founding members were Hans-Georg Krage †, Hans-Dieter Gessner , Dieter König † (König Motoren), Karl Bartel †, Kurt Mischke †, Peter Komoll , Dieter Wagner and H.-G. Mössner.

In 1978 the MRC began working with young people in the German Motor Yacht Association (DMYV). Three world champions emerged from this youth work.

The MRC introduced new rules that appeared necessary for safety reasons and have been in place until now. One of the main innovations in the 1980s was the jetty launch . This is now used internationally in almost all races. The MRC currently has 28 world and 36 European titles in its club. Eight members of the MRC have already been awarded the Silver Laurel Leaf , the Federal President's highest honor.
