Moufida Tlatli

Moufida Tlatli ( Arabic مفيدة التلاتلي, DMG Mufīda at-Talātilī ; * 1947 in Sidi Bou Saïd ) is a Tunisian film editor , screenwriter and film director .

Life

Moufida Tlatli received film training at IDHEC in Paris from 1966 to 1968 . She then returned to Tunis, but continued to work as an editor in Paris. She also took part in a lot of Tunisian films. Together with Férid Boughedir and Nacer Khemir , Moufida Tlatli is one of the most important Tunisian filmmakers. She made her directorial debut with Palast des Schweigens (Arabic: Samt al qusur , French : Les silences du palais , 1994). Other directorial works by her were Zeit der Männer, Zeit der Frauen ( La Saison des hommes , 2000) and rivals ( Nadia et Sarra , 2004).

In 1994 Tlatli was awarded for Palace of Silence at the Carthage Film Festival .

After the revolution in Tunisia in 2010/2011 , she joined Mohamed Ghannouchi's transitional government in January 2011 as Minister of Culture .

Tlatli is one of the directors portrayed in the 2011 TV documentary Femme et cinéaste .
