Mouna Karray

Mouna Karray (* 1970 in Sfax ) is a Tunisian photographer . From 1989 to 1993 she studied film studies and photography in Tunis and from 1997 to 2002 in Tokyo (1997–2002). During her stay in Japan, she dealt primarily with autobiographical content in her artistic work. Her photo series Tokyo my Love , which she created in 2001, and Identity at Stake from 2002, which is still being continued, became famous. In addition to her own work, Mouna Karray has taught photography in Tunisia and has curated exhibitions. Mouna Karray graduated with a Masters in Image Media from Tokyo Polytechnic University (2001). She currently lives in Sfax and Paris .
