Mount Basurto is an ice-free and 2000 m high mountain in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Convoy Range , it looms at the southern end of Noring Terrace .
The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after Juan T. Basurto, logistician of the United States Antarctic Program , who was continuously responsible for the transport of materials to and from the McMurdo station between 1986 and 2007 .
