Mount Benjamin is a 1750 m high and striking mountain in the Antarctic Ross Dependency . It rises on the western flank of the Amundsen Glacier and 8 km southeast of Mount Ellsworth in the Queen Maud Mountains .
The mountain was first sighted and mapped during the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928–1930). The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named him after the American meteorologist Benjamin F. Smith, who worked at McMurdo Station in the winter of 1963 .
