Jaroszowice is a village with a Schulzenamt of the municipality Wadowice in the powiat Wadowicki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place is located on the right bank of the Skawa River under the Little Beskids ( Beskid Mały ).

Neighboring towns are the city of Wadowice in the north, Klecza Dolna and Klecza Górna in the east, Łękawica in the southeast, Świnna Poręba in the south, Gorzeń Górny in the west.

history

The place was first mentioned in 1317 as Jaroschow . In 1350 the parish of Yarossov already existed . In the 14th century Jaroszowice also included the grounds of today's villages Klecza Dolna and Klecza Górna , which later gradually became independent.

Politically, the village originally belonged to the Duchy of Auschwitz , which existed from 1315 during the period of Polish particularism . Since 1327 consisted suzerainty of the Kingdom of Bohemia . In 1440 the place was bought by Mikołaj Serafin, a subordinate of the Polish king and salt count (Polish żupnik ) of Italian origin. Shortly thereafter, the place was separated from the Duchy of Auschwitz with some other villages and attached to the Kingdom of Poland for intra-terminos Regni [Poloniae et] Regno in perpetuum cedatur . In other words, they changed state affiliation earlier than the rest of the Duchy of Auschwitz or Zator. That was also on February 3, 1441 by Władysław III. Confirmed in Esztergom : omne ius, quod sibi competebat ratione eius cessionis per ducem in hoc castro et villis Stronye , Leschnycza , Jaroschowcze , Zakrzow et Berwald , quarum tres ultimas Nicolaus gladifer suis pecuniis exempeterat, ac silva Ochodzait in . The above mentioned villages became the Starostei of Barwałd in 1474/1475 .

During the first partition of Poland , Jaroszowice became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Jaroszowice became part of Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II .

From 1975 to 1998 Jaroszowice was part of the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .
