Collegium Marianum in Klecza Dolna

Klecza Dolna is a village with a Schulzenamt of the municipality Wadowice in the powiat Wadowicki of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

geography

The place lies on the Kleczanka brook , a right tributary of the Skawa .

Neighboring towns are the city of Wadowice in the west, Roków and Babica in the north, Wysoka in the northeast, Klecza Górna in the east and Jaroszowice in the southwest.

history

The place Klecza developed in the 14th century at the bottom of the village Jaroszowice . The local church was then called Kleczce sive Jarossin / Jarossow . Klecza probably gained independence around 1440. In that year Jaroszowice was bought by Mikołaj Serafin and shortly thereafter the village became part of the Kingdom of Poland , while Klecza remained a private village in the Duchy of Auschwitz . This duchy was established in 1315 during the period of Polish particularism . Since 1327 it was the feudal rule of the Kingdom of Bohemia . Since 1445 it belonged to the Duchy of Zator , which was sold to Poland in 1494. The division into Klecza Dolna (Lower) and Klecza Górna (Upper) took place in the 17th century.

During the first partition of Poland , Klecza Dolna became part of the new Kingdom of Galicia and Lodomeria of the Habsburg Empire in 1772 (from 1804).

In 1918, after the end of the First World War and the collapse of the Austro-Hungarian monarchy, Klecza Dolna came to Poland. This was only interrupted by the occupation of Poland by the Wehrmacht in World War II . It then belonged to the General Government .

From 1975 to 1998 Klecza Dolna was part of the Bielsko-Biała Voivodeship .
