The Mount Black Prince is an imposing, pyramid-shaped and 3456 m (according to other information 3405 m ) high mountain made of dark sedimentary rock in the East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the Admiralty Mountains, it rises 6 km west of Mount Ajax on the north side of the firn field on the Leander Glacier .
Participants in a campaign carried out from 1957 to 1958 as part of the New Zealand Geological Survey Antarctic Expedition named it after its appearance and after the New Zealand cruiser HMNZS Black Prince .
