Mount Bower

Mount Bower is a prominent and 2610  m high mountain in East Antarctic Victoria Land . In the group of Outback Nunatakkers, it rises 10 km east-northeast of Roberts Butte .

The United States Geological Survey mapped it on the basis of its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1964. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named the mountain in 1970 after John R. Bower, ionospheric physicist at the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station in 1970 1968.
